Zelma Foster, 98, of Philpot, died Wednesday, March 30, 2011 at her home. Zelma was born in Daviess County to the late Frank and Lillie (Bell) Johnson. She was a member of Friendship Baptist Church and a homemaker who loved to cook and care for her family.
Her husband, Ernest Foster preceded her in death on July 23, 1988, a son, Maurice on Oct. 3, 1985, a son-in-law, Leroy Casey on May 25, 2003, a daughter-in-law, Patty Foster on Feb. 2, 2000, and an infant sister, Janie Louise Johnson.
Surviving is a son; Darrell Foster of Whitesville, and daughters; Dorothy Casey and Jean Kelly of Philpot; grandchildren, Jane and Rick Hamilton, John (Julie) Foster, Brian, Barry and Chancely Foster, a step-grandson; Ernie (Judy) Casey, and great-grandchildren; Payton, Morgan, Gracie, Kevin and Maggie Foster, and two cousins; George (Lois) Johnson, and Willie Lee (Hazel) Johnson.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 2, 2011 at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with Rev. Jerry Lambrich officiating. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 2 to 8 p.m. and after 10 a.m. Saturday. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to David Heady, Global Missions, C/O Friendship Baptist Church, or to the Daviess County Humane Society.
