Zack Simon, 30, of Owensboro died January 16, 2017 in Lexington, KY. He was a server at The Chop House, had worked at J's Liquors and had attended the University of Kentucky. Zack loved music and attending music festivals, dancing and camping while listening to Radio Head, The Grateful Dead and The Flaming Lips play live. He loved the outdoors and spent countless hours hiking and biking on trails and kayaking down the Red River Gorge. He played disc golf, enjoyed a good craft beer, loved UK sports and was an incredible friend. A free spirit, Zack, had the most amazing hugs, an infectious smile, and an outlook on life that made all that knew him feel good whenever he was around. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Donald Simon.
Survivors include his mother and step-father, Kara Simon and Joe Hamilton of Owensboro; father, Michael Hendrix, of Ohio County; beloved daughter, Presley; sister, Lacie Baldwin and her husband Robbie of Owensboro; adored niece, GiGi Baldwin; maternal grandmother, Ann Simon of Owensboro; paternal grandmother, Betty Sparks of Henderson; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in the chapel of Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Friday and after 8:30 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
