Worley Edward Gentry, Jr.

Worley Edward “Ed” Gentry, Jr, 69, of Utica, passed away Wednesday, May 6, 2026, at his home. He was born November 17, 1956, in Owensboro, to the late Worley Edward Gentry Sr. and Alice Westerfield Gentry Ward. Ed graduated from Daviess County High School in 1974. He went on to become a licensed land surveyor, working for Texas Gas for 25 years before running his own company, Gentry Land Surveying. Ed was a lifelong member of the Southside Church of Christ. He and his wife, Lisa, were married June 18, 1983. Ed enjoyed gardening, playing guitar, UK basketball, Classic Rock music, and most of all spending time with his grandchildren.

Along with his parents, he was also preceded in death by his step-father, Don Ward; sisters Debbie Lanphear (David), and Lori Cleaver (Brian); and nephew, Adam Lanphear.

Ed is survived by his wife of 42 years, Lisa Hast Gentry; son, Will Gentry (Sara); daughter, Carrie Mullen (Greg); grandchildren, Kate, Luke, and Livy Mullen, and Charlie Grace Gentry; a brother, Scott Gentry (Tracey); mother-in-law, Carolyn Hast; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.

The funeral service for Worley Edward “Ed” Gentry, Jr will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, May 11 at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with Jonathan Brown officiating. Burial to follow in Rosehill Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory.
