Winona Goodman Maglinger

Winona Goodman "Beemaw" Maglinger, 77, of Owensboro, passed away on Sunday, February 12, 2012 at Owensboro Place Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was born on May 31, 1934 in Olaton, KY to the late Hardin Wilson and Rebecca Jane Pryor Goodman. She had worked at General Electric and later cooked at Daviess Co. High School for 13 years and at Owensboro-Daviess Co. Hospital cafeteria for 17 years before retiring. Winona was a member of Eaton Memorial Baptist Church where she was in the Faithful Workers Sunday School Class. She enjoyed crocheting, especially baby blankets and throws, and cooking. She loved cooking special meals for patients in the hospital calling them "Food Therapy". She also enjoyed babysitting for the many children she knew. Winona was a very caring person always putting others ahead of herself. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Charles Homer Maglinger on May 15, 1972.

She is survived by her children, Sheila Maglinger Crowley and husband Justin of Hanson, Mark Maglinger and wife Gina and Cindy Maglinger, all of Owensboro, five grandchildren, Katie Crowley Gamblin and husband Joe, Amy Crowley, and Justin Earl Crowley II, all of Madisonville, Christy Maglinger of Owensboro, and Jerome Hernandez of the Phillipines, four great grandchildren, Jonas Crowley, Samuel Gamblin, Simon Gamblin, and Austin Kim Hernandez, three brothers, Raymond (Wanda) Goodman of McHenry, Mike (Nadine) Goodman and Carlton Lee (Brenda) Goodman, all of Owensboro, and a sister, Mary Moss of Owensboro, and numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

Services will be 12 Noon Wednesday, February 15, at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with burial following in Elmwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2:00-8:00 P.M. Tuesday and after 9:00 A.M. Wednesday at the funeral home.
