Winnifred Lou Holder

Winnifred L. "Winnie" Holder, 58, of Owensboro, went safely home to her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday, July 2, 2011 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born on September 9, 1952 in Norfolk, VA. She was an apartment manager and a member of the Unitarian Universalist Congregation. She was a graduate of Owensboro Senior High School where she was a member of the track team and then later attended the University of Kentucky where she graduated in 1996 with a Bachelor of Arts degree. She was a founding member of the Divers and Explorers Club. She had been on the Owensboro Country Club Swim team as a teenager. She enjoyed snow skiing, painting, artwork and sculpting. Winnie loved her dog, Nicki, very much.

Surviving are her parents, Ruth and Scott Holder of Owensboro, a sister, Margot (James) Muffett of Lansing, Michigan, five nieces and nephews, Christopher (Jen) Muffett and their son Isaiah of Lansing, Emily (Michael) Jefferies of Taipei, Taiwan, and Jason, Justin, and Joel Muffett, all of Lansing.

Memorial services will be 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, July 6, at Faith Lutheran Church, 2830 Frederica St. in Owensboro. Visitation will be after 10:00 A.M. Wednesday at the church.
