Wilma Sue Everley McCoy, 84, of Owensboro passed away Wednesday, May 28, 2008 at her home. Born in Rockport, KY on January 19, 1924, Mrs. McCoy was the daughter of the late William and Emma Hamm Everly and worked at General Electric in Owensboro before her marriage to Calvin McCoy when she moved to Louisiana. She retired from Lake Charles Memorial Hospital in Louisiana where she was a records clerk for 31 years; was a member of the Mt Olivet Baptist Church in Stanley, LA and was attending Masonville Baptist since moving back to Owensboro in November 2007; and loved boating, flying and her cats. She was preceded in death by her husband, Calvin P. McCoy in 2004, and a sister, Nora Clara Everly Richmond in 1977.
Survivors include a brother, Donald Carl Everly of Utica; nephew, Donald Hugh Everly of Owensboro; niece, Patty (and Bill) Lee of Owensboro; great-nephews and nieces, Zachary Everly and Benjamin Everly, and Sarah Everly; and great-great-niece, Addi Everly.
Services are 12 noon Saturday at Glenn Funeral Home with Brother Kimbrough Simmons officiating followed by burial in Ceralvo Cemetery in Ohio County. Visitation will be from 4-8 P.M. on Friday and after 10 A.M. on Saturday.
