Wilma Ida Mattingly, 70, of 665 Danberry Street, Owensboro, died Friday, March 22, 2002 at her home. She was born in Deskle, Italy on October 4, 1931 the daughter of Josko and Stefanija Zimic. Her husband, Charles F. Mattingly, preceded her in death on July 5, 2001.
Mrs. Mattingly was a homemaker and a member of Precious Blood Catholic Church. She loved cooking, gardening, fishing, camping and spending time with her family.
Survivors include a son, Joe Mattingly of Owensboro; three daughters, Violet Higdon, Linda Sweat and Lori Hall, all of Owensboro; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Josko Zimic and Emil Zimic, both of Deskle, Slovenia; two sisters, Sidonija Moenik of Nova Gorica, Slovenia and Nada Massara of Bedford, Western Australia.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 25, 2002 at Precious Blood Catholic Church, officiated by Father Pete Hughes. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery. Her family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Sunday, March 24, 2002 and after 9:00 a.m. Monday at Glenn Funeral Home. Prayers will be said at 4:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
