Willliam "Bill" Byrne

William "Bill" Byrne, 75, of Owensboro, passed away September 7, 2016. Born July 30, 1941 to the late George w., Jr., and Della Allen Bland Byrne, Bill was member of First Free Will Baptist Church, a UK sports fan and enjoyed watching the races Ellis Park. He retired from Audubon Area Community Services from their Weatherization Program. Bill also enjoyed spending time at the ocean and Myrtle Beach with his wife. He was preceded in death by brother-in-law, Carl Shaffer and sister-in-law, Lillie Stone.

He is survived by his wife of nearly 26 years, Kathy Byrne; sons, Mark Byrne (Cathy) and Michael Byrne; step-daughters, Carla Gillaspie and Sandra Meadows; nine grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; half-brother, Wally Byrne; brother-in-law, David Shaffer; half-sisters, Dianne Murphy and Linda McKee.

Services for Mr. Byrne will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, September 10, 2016 at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory where visitation will begin at noon. Pastor Tim Hall will officiate. Burial will take place at Owensboro Memorial Gardens following service.
