Willis "Wayne" Rudd, 85, of Owensboro passed away Saturday, February 11, 2017 under the care of Hospice at the Heartford House. Mr. Rudd was born March 1st, 1931 in Waukegan, Illinois. He was the son of Roger Rudd and Pauline and Jewell Cooper. Wayne Graduated from Owensboro High School before becoming a Staff Sergeant in the USMC and a Korean War veteran. He retired from Whitehall Furniture.
Wayne was a fan of University of Kentucky Basketball. In his younger years he enjoyed playing golf and was actively involved in the choir at the Methodist Church in Paducah.
Mr. Rudd was preceded in death by the love of his life- his wife of 50 years,Glenda Vale Heifner; his parents; a grandson; two brothers; and an infant sister.
Survivors include his daughters, Donna Hounton of Owensboro, Cindy Rhinerson and her husband Michael of Owensboro, and Deborah Hamilton of Nicholasville; sons, Kenneth Rudd and his wife Mary of Philpot, and Keith Rudd and his wife Anna of Philpot; brothers Larry and Harold Cooper; sisters Sandra PaskVan and Phyllis Hamilton; 11 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; his special friend Margaret "Sue" Walker; and his constant faithful companion Sassy.
Services will be private.
