Willis Martin Midkiff, 90, of Owensboro, Kentucky, passed away November 2, 2016, at his home. He was born December 26, 1925 in Ohio County, Kentucky, to the late Otis (Hub) and Mary Elizabeth Martin Midkiff. Willis served in the army as a paratrooper during World War II. Willis was a member of Breckinridge United Methodist Church. He was more than a 50 year member of Jo Ellis Lodge #473 and Ensor Lodge #729, Goel #104 Order of Eastern Star, Lions Club International, Rizpah Shrine, Owensboro Commandery #115, Sword Bunker Hill, Owensboro Council #34 of Owensboro York Rite, Jo Davis Chapter #32, a life member of United Carpenters and Joiners, and he was a Kentucky Colonel. Willis retired from Hartz Construction, where he worked for 31 years. He was an avid car trader and Nascar fan.
He is preceded in death by his wife of fifty-five years, Nina Wilson Midkiff; daughter, Amelia Ann Belcher, and sisters, Beatrice Stiff and Lucille Midkiff.
He is survived by his son, Tony (Susan) Midkiff of Fordsville; grandsons, Aaron (Amber) and Jarred Midkiff both of Ohio County; great-grandchildren, Stalie and Sawyer Midkiff; great-nephew, Christopher Scott (Celena) Belcher of Owensboro; and several more nieces and nephews, including his care-takers, Shirley and Ron Oliver of Philpot.
Services will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 9, 2016, at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Visitation will be Tuesday 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Wednesday beginning at 8:30 a.m. Entombment will follow at Owensboro Memorial Gardens.
