Willis Leon Manley, 81, of the Roosevelt House, Owensboro, passed away on Wednesday, April 1, 2009 at his home. He was born February 7, 1928 in Marion Co., Ky. to the late Willie and Mary Florence Towery Manley. He was a member of Bellevue Baptist Church and retired from Field Packing Co, as a sales supervisor. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with his grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by a son-in-law, Michael D. Howard on March 31, 2009 and a brother, Wilford Glenn Manley.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Viola "Vi" Manley, four daughters, Sandra Nicotra and husband Anthony of Melbourne, FL, Linda Bandy of Louisville, Debbie Jenkins and husband Bill of Sorgho, and Lisa Howard of Philpot, a son, Christopher Manley of Gastonia, N. C., 13 grandchildren, Tony Henry, Susan Henry, Adam Bandy, Allison Bandy, Robert Jenkins, Paul Jenkins, Savannah Jenkins, Cameron Howard, Rebecca Bogucki, Andi Howard, Jayden Howard, Tyson Howard, and Keylan Howard, eight great grandchildren, five brothers, Gerald Manley of Lady Lake, FL, and Alfred Manley, Don Manley, Joe Manley, and Dempsey Manley, all of Owensboro, and two sisters, Hazel Manley of Owensboro and Marilyn Elkins of Marion, OH.
Services will be 10:00 A.M. Saturday, April 4, at the Glenn Funeral Home Chapel officiated by Dr. Angus McKinley. Burial will follow in Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 3:00-8:00 P.M. Friday and after 8:30 A.M. Saturday at the funeral home.
