William F. York

William Bill York, 83, of 3867 Lewis Lane, Owensboro, died Saturday, July 26, at Owensboro Mercy Health System. He was born in McLean Co., Ky. He was a member of Eaton Memorial Baptist Church, a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, and participated in the Normandy invasion, and was a recipient of the Purple Heart. He had worked in the Produce Dept. at Wyndalls Foodland since 1956.
Surviving are his wife of 56 years, Mary Catherine York, 2 Daughters, and sons-in-law, Nancy Nave Marshall and Leland Marshall and Sherri McDaniel and Larry McDaniel, all of Owensboro, 4 Grandsons, Bill Nave and Todd Nave, both of Philpot, Ryan McDaniel of Owensboro, and Clay McDaniel of Lexington, Ky., 2 Great Grandchildren, Samantha Nave and Noah Nave, 1 brother, Ray G. York and 1 sister, Mattie Sutherlin, both of Owensboro
Services will be Monday, July 28, at 3:00 P.M. at the Glenn Funeral Home Chapel with burial following in Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Sunday from 2:00-6:00 P.M. and Monday after 11:00 A.M.
