William Caufman Ward

William Caufman Ward, 72, of 4829 Canary Road, Owensboro, died Tuesday, October 15, 2002, at his home. He was born in London, Kentucky on May 17, 1930 the son of Morris and Nellie Russell Ward.

Mr. Ward retired from Alcoa in 1993 after 24 years, worked at Reids Produce and enjoyed University of Kentucky basketball and NASCAR. He was a member of Sorgho Baptist Church, Owensboro Hillbillies and Friendship Camping Clubs and was a Navy veteran of the Korean War.

Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Norma Jean Grimsley Ward; a son, William Downey Ward of San Diego; a daughter, Dana Elizabeth Brown of Owensboro; and two grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 11:30 a.m. Saturday, October 19, 2002 at Glenn Funeral Home Chapel, officiated by Reverend William S. Roberts. Burial will be in Sorgho Cemetery. Visitation is from 2:00 p.m. from 8:00 p.m. Friday, October 18, 2002 and after 10:00 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
