William Randall Vanover, 86, of Owensboro, passed away on Monday, March 19, 2012, at Bon Harbor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. He was born on May 7, 1925 in Daviess Co., KY to the late Rollie P. and Anna Smith Vanover. He was a retired cook having worked for numerous restaurants in the area. Mr. Vanover was a U. S. Army veteran of World War II and a member of Ridgewood Baptist Church. He enjoyed raising roses, traveling, and cooking. He was also preceded in death by two sons, Roger Dale and Jeffrey Lee Vanover and a daughter, Deborah Sue Kidd.
Surviving are his wife of 46 years, Gloria Ann Vanover, three sons, Michael Ray Vanover of Owensboro, William Randall Vanover, Jr. of Paducah, and George Allan Vanover of Kansas, four daughters, Sandra K. Spears of Owensboro, Marlene A. Brooks of Texas, Nicole Lynn Kacans of Minnesota, and Michelle E. King of Ohio, 20 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild.
Services will be 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, March 21, at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with burial following in Elmwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2:00-8:00 P.M. Tuesday and after 8:30 A.M. Wednesday at the funeral home.
