It is with heavy hearts that the family of William Joseph (Bill) Tucker, 85, of Owensboro announces his passing on January 15, 2017, when he left this world to spend eternity with our Lord in heaven. A beloved husband, father and Poppy, Bill was born on December 1, 1931, a son of the late Walter and Lucille Tucker. Bill was a military veteran having served in the Air Force during the Korean War. He was retired from OMU where he was employed as a shift supervisor. Bill was a devout Catholic and member of Sts. Joe & Paul Catholic Church. He enjoyed spending time golfing, fishing, line dancing and playing cards. Bill lived a good life and was fortunate enough to spend summer weekends and vacations at Rough River Lake.
Bill was preceded in death by his wife Patty Halley Tucker; brother Jim Tucker; wife Mev May Tucker and son Scott Tucker.
He is survived by his wife of 7 years, Pat O'Bryan Tucker, sons Mike Tucker (Sandy) of Owensboro and Joe Tucker (Tammy) of Utica, daughters Tammi O'Bryan (Joe) of Owensboro and Tracy Holden (Barry) of Charleston SC., 10 grandkids, 8 great-grandkids, step children Debbie Stiff (Perry) of Owensboro and Kathy Stiff (Scott) of Whitesville, 13 step-grandkids, and 23 step great-grandkids.
The service will be at 10:00 am Wednesday at Sts. Joe and Paul Catholic Church with Father Carl McCarthy officiating. Burial to follow at Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation is from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday with prayers at 6:00 p.m., and after 8:30 a.m. Wednesday at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory.
Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Joe and Paul Parking Lot Fund, Heartford House, or the Laken Tucker Cancer Fund for his great-grandson.
