Bill Threlkeld, 96, of Owensboro, died Thursday, August 18, 2016 at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. Mr. Threlkeld was born in Memphis, Tennessee to the late Earl R. and Margaret Berry Threlkeld. During World War II he served in United State Army Air Corps as an air traffic control officer in Brazil. He was a graduate of the Cecil C. Humphries School of Law at Memphis State University, now the University of Memphis. Mr. Threlkeld retired as Vice President and Corporate Secretary of Texas Gas Transmission Corporation following 35 years of service. He was a long time and devoted member of First Baptist Church and its Mavericks Bible Study Class. He was preceded in death by his first wife Laura L. Hendriok, his daughter Kendall Threlkeld Trevey, his sisters Erlene McCully, Ann Fisher, and Helen McLendon, and his brother James Threlkeld.
Mr. Threlkeld is survived by his wife of 30 years Chloe Allen Threlkeld; his daughter Kathleen McMullan and her husband Robert of Bardstown; his step-children Allen Hall and his wife Janice, and Elizabeth Clark and her husband Michael; his grandchildren Brian McMullan and his wife Rebecca, Laura Dover and her husband Matt, David Trevey and his wife Rebecca, and Robert Trevey and his wife Meggan.; and great grandchildren Joshua Dover and Wyatt Trevey; and his his step-great grandchildren Meghanne Clark, Michaela Clark, Alessa Hall and Lyla Grace Hall.
Mr. Threlkeld's family is deeply appreciative of the care provided by Dr. Angela Jarvis, Dr. Jewraj Maheshwari, the staff of the Infusion Lab at the Mitchell Cancer Center, the staff of the Cardiac Care Unit at OHRH and the compassionate care of their dear friend and caregiver Janet McCarty.
The funeral service for Mr. Threlkeld, officiated by Dr. Paul Strahan and Dr. James Coleman, will be 12:00 noon Tuesday at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory, where visitation will be from 3:00 until 7:00 p.m. Monday and after 11:00 a.m. Tuesday. Burial will be in the Field of Honor at Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the HELP Office.
