William George Terry

William George Terry, 88, of Owensboro passed away Tuesday, January 15, 2008 at the Bon Harbor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Born in Daviess County on June 30, 1919, Mr. Terry was the son of the late Roy and Josephine Heitman Terry; a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church; retired from Watkins Nursery; and a World War II Army veteran. He enjoyed wood working and bird watching.

He is survived by his wife and childhood sweetheart of 61 years, Margaret Payne Terry; sons and daughters-in-law, Billy and Mary Ann Terry, Joe and Sharon Terry, Clint and Marsha Terry, and Lynn and Debbie Terry all of Owensboro; grandchildren, Jason Terry, Cassie Stelmach, Misty Durbin, Kristy Ebelhar, Joseph Terry, Jenni Owen, Tim Terry, Kathleen Jarnigan, Karen Terry, and Will Terry; 30 great-grandchildren; and sisters, Dorothy Roberts and Tootie Roberts both of Owensboro.

Services are 10 A.M. Friday, January 18, 2008 at Glenn Funeral Home with Father Maury Riney officiating followed by burial in Resurrection Cemetery where VFW Post 696 will provide military honors. Visitation will be from 4-8 P.M. on Thursday and after 8:30 A.M. on Friday. Prayers will be at the funeral home at 7 P.M. on Thursday.
