William B. Spratt Jr.

William Bertram Spratt Jr, 91, of Owensboro, died on January 9, 2026, surrounded by his family.

Bill was born April 24, 1934, the oldest son of ten children, to the late William Bertram Sr and Lucy Mae Spratt, in Owensboro, KY. He served in the U.S. Air Force, where he was stationed at Dyess Air Force Base in Abilene, Texas, and also served a tour in Iwo Jima, Japan. Aside from his time in the service, he lived his entire life in Owensboro and worked at Kentron as a tool and die maker.

After retiring, he spent his time doing what he loved the most - traveling with his wife, Sharon, avidly following all University of Kentucky sports, especially basketball, and being a wonderful, loving Grandaddy to his grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Lucy; sisters, Betty Jean Spratt and Anna Reid Farmer; and brothers, Donald, Jerry, and George Spratt.

He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Sharon Spratt; three brothers, James Spratt of Evansville, IN, Daniel Spratt of Huntsville, AL, Samuel Spratt of Lacey's Spring, AL and a sister, Linda Cameron of Rockport, TX; his sons Greg (Vicky) Spratt, of Valrico, FL and Gary (Jenny) Spratt of Lexington, KY; his step-sons Mike (Connie) Young and Brison (Jenny) Young, both of Owensboro; and eight grandchildren, David Wise and Jarrett Wise-Spratt of Valrico, FL, Lucy and Ella Spratt, of Lexington, KY and Cody, Owen, Anslee and Olivia Young, all of Owensboro.

The funeral service for Bill Spratt will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, January 13, 2026, at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Visitation will be from 10:00 am until 1:30 pm on Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Owensboro Memorial Gardens.
