William Hilton Ratliff

William H. Ratliff, 75, of Owensboro died Wednesday, October 19, 2005 at Owensboro Medical Health System. Born in McLean County, KY, a son of the late Luther William and Claudia Clark Ratliff, he retired as a lab technician from W.R. Grace, was a 45 year member of Blessed Mother Catholic Church, and enjoyed the time he spent with his family, wood working, carpentry, fishing, and watching University of Kentucky basketball. He was preceded in death in 1982 by his son, Curtis Ratliff.

Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Margaret Higdon Ratliff; his son, Eric Ratliff, of Owensboro; his daughters, Benita Drury and her husband Bryan, and Christa Ackerman and her husband, James, both of Owensboro; his grandchildren, Adrianne Ratliff, Kara Drury, Kelci Drury, Nic Drury, Kaitlyn Ackerman, and Trenton Ackerman, all of Owensboro, and Travis Ratliff and Troy Ratliff, both of Lexington; his brothers, Marlin Ratliff of Whitesville and Durwood Ratliff of Calhoun; his sisters, Ann Rowe of San Antonio, TX, and Dorothy Clements, of Tuscon, AZ, and his honorary daughter, Kathy Haley, of Owensboro.

Services are noon Friday at Blessed Mother Catholic Church, The Rev. Freddie Byrd officiating. Visitation will be from 3:00 until 8:00 p.m. Thursday and from 10:00 until 11:30 a.m. Friday at Glenn Funeral Home, where prayers will be said at 6:00 p.m. Thursday. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery.
