William L. Quinn

William L. Quinn Jr., 89, of Owensboro, passed away Sunday, January 5, 2025, at his home. He was born September 26, 1935, in Griffith, KY to the late William Sr. and Henrietta Saalwaechter Quinn. In January of 1950, the family moved to Hammond, IN where they remained until 1954 when they made Chicago, IL their new home. William worked at Zenith Corporation in Chicago for seventeen years in research and development, where he advanced to be the manager of special CRTS and development. In 1970, the family moved to Tarzana, CA and then to Reseda. William worked at Flowform for eight years and later at Johnson Engineering while in California for another twenty years before returning to Kentucky in 2005. William served in the United States Army in various locations throughout the United States and served in Korea during the peace times. He was a lifetime Bass Association member and enjoyed trout fishing and camping in the Sierra’s. 

In addition to his parents, William is preceded in death by a brother, Arthur Quinn. 

Those left to cherish his memory include his sisters, Alta Mae Robinson (Jack) and Deloris Jean Stitz (Bob); brother, James Quinn; nieces and nephews, Jeff Stitz, Connie Ryan, Steve Stitz, Suzanne (Cedric) Bernescut, David (Kelly) Quinn, Jeanette (Glen) Hart, Phillip Quinn, Laura Quinn, William (Emily) Quinn, Diana Quinn, and Kenneth Chlebowski (Kathleen); eight great nephews and six great nieces. 

The funeral service for William will be 2 PM Friday, January 17, at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Visitation will be Thursday from 10 AM until 2 PM and Friday from 10 AM until time of service at the funeral home. Entombment will follow at Owensboro Memorial Gardens.
