William C. Potts

William C. "Bill" Potts, 69, of Owensboro, passed away on Tuesday, March 15, 2011 at Owensboro Medical Health System. He was born on November 27, 1941 in Breckenridge Co., Ky. to the late William Francis and Velma Mae Basham Potts. He was a member of Sts Joseph and Paul Catholic Church and was a retired machine operator with Alcoa Aluminum. Bill enjoyed watching U.K. and U. of L. basketball, Nascar, woodworking, and spending time with his children and grandchildren. He also enjoyed gardening, farming and tending to his cats and chickens.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Elsie Carlton Potts, two sons, Bill Potts and wife Kim of Henderson, Ky. and Steve Potts and wife Mary of Madison, Al., three grandchildren, Brandon Potts and Alex Potts, both of Henderson and Caitlin Potts of Madison, two sisters, Ruth Marion and husband Roger of Lexington and Catherine Urban and husband Gil of Swanton, Oh., and three brothers, Kenny Potts of Hardinsburg, Bobby Potts of Lexington, and Eddie Potts of Owensboro.

Services will be 10:00 A.M. Thursday, March 17 at Sts. Joseph and Paul Catholic Church with burial following in Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2:00-8:00 P.M. Wednesday with prayers at 6:30 P.M. and then after 8:30 A.M. Thursday at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory.
