William Everett Pierce

William E. "Buddy" Pierce of Owensboro, Kentucky passed away April 7, 2015 at the Heartford House Hospice. He was a business owner and lifelong resident of Western Kentucky and a veteran of the U.S. Navy where he served in combat during W.W.II and Korea, receiving a purple heart. An avid fisherman, he loved being on the water.
Buddy is the son of Emma Lue Allen and James Pierce of Addison, Ky. and is survived by his loving wife of 69 years, Ellen Pierce, of Owensboro. He was preceded in death by his daughter Judy Pierce Arnold formerly of Owensboro and is survived by his daughter Carol Pierce of Miami, FL. Also surviving him are two granddaughters, Candy Arnold Oakes of Owensboro and Cynthia Arnold Frederichs of Beaverton, Oregon and five great-grandchildren Katie, Joey and Emma Oakes and Knight and Talon Frederichs.
Services will precede burial on Friday, April 10 with visitation from 1 p.m. at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory followed by a military graveside service at 2 p.m. at Rosehill Cemetery. Condolences may be made to glennfuneralhome.com
