William “Pete” A. Butterowe III, 85, of Knottsville passed away Saturday, August 10, 2024, at Hermitage Care and Rehabilitation. The Galveston, Texas native was born August 12, 1938, to the late William A. Butterowe Jr. and Ethel Ruenbuhe Butterowe. Pete became the first Eagle Scout in the Galveston area as well as serving as an altar boy at St. Patrick’s. He graduated from the Catholic and all boys Kirwin High School, class of 1956, where he played football and briefly attended college before becoming a third-generation electrician. He later moved to the Las Vegas area and worked through Local 357. As an accomplished electrician, designer, and builder, Pete was involved in the construction of many of the iconic casinos and arenas in the city. After retirement in 2009, Pete continued to work as an electrical consultant. Eventually, he relocated to Kentucky to be closer to family. Pete was an avid Notre Dame and Philadelphia Eagles fan and enjoyed country music and loved his four-legged canine “babies”.
