William D. Penrod

William D. Penrod, 87, formerly of Owensboro, passed away Monday, November 12, 2007 at the Marshall County Hospital in Benton. Born January 28, 1920 in Greenville, he was the son of the late Hugh and Ida Bandy Penrod; owner and operated Ferrells Restaurant in Owensboro for many years; and was a member of Maple Springs United Methodist Church in Marshall County. He was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth Rummage Penrod, and brothers and sisters, Agnes Howard, Margie Ferrell, Bobby Penrod and Joe Penrod.

Surviving is a daughter and son-in-law, Mary Ida and Gerald Jones of Benton; grandchildren, Ricky (and Jo Beth) Jones and Robin (and Ed) Deese all of Benton; great-grandchildren, Hudson Deese, Will Deese, Griffin Deese, Karly Jo Jones and Jesse Jones; sisters, Nancy Alford of Madisonville and Jean Estes of Owensboro; and a brother, Eddie Penrod of Columbia, TN.

Services are 10 A.M. Wednesday, November 13, 2007 at Glenn Funeral Home followed by burial in Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 5-8 P.M. on Tuesday and after 9 A.M. on Wednesday.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Maple Springs United Methodist Church, 9643 Hwy 68 East, Benton, KY 42025.
