William ''Bill'' Nalley, 74, of Owensboro, died Wednesday, May 2, 2012 at Owensboro Medical Health System. He was born in Owensboro to the late, Allison Humphrey and May Belle (Likens) Nalley. Bill served two years in the Army in Korea and remained in the 100 th Division, Army Reserves for 29 years. He also was a U.S. Postal Employee for 25 years, and past president of the local Postal Workers Union AFL-CIO. He was a member of Bellevue Baptist Church. His wife, Brenda, preceded him in death in 2005 as well as siblings; Marietta Swentner, Dorothy Spencer, Darrell, Kenneth, Marion, Harold, Eugene Nalley, Tom and Charles Atherton.
Surviving is a son; Scott Nalley, and grandchildren; Jacob, Connor, Griffin, and Isaac Nalley, all of Owensboro, a brother; Joseph B. Atherton of Ft. Myers, FL., and sisters; Mildred Lively of Lakeland, Fl., and Janetta Brannon of Burleson, TX.
Funeral services will be 12:00 p.m. Saturday, May 5, 2012 at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Friday, and after 10 a.m. Saturday with burial in Elmwood Cemetery with military honors.
