William Patrick "Pat" McGovern

William Patrick "Pat" McGovern, 51, of Owensboro, passed away March 23, 2018 at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. He was born May 21, 1966 in Owensboro to the late William and Carolyn McGovern. Pat was a 1985 graduate of Owensboro High School and worked at the Executive Inn, Ryan's and most recently Old Hickory. He spent most of his days at Active Day of Owensboro. Pat loved Holiday World, riding roller coasters, playing basketball as a child and riding his bike around town. He was a huge Elvis Presley fan and had visited Graceland. Pat was committed to church and could always be seen Saturday evenings in the front pew at Immaculate Parish.

Pat was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Michael McGovern; uncles, Frank Johnson, James Bernard McGovern; aunts, Imogene Quinn, Ruth Quinn and Bridget Higdon.

He is survived by his twin brother, Philip L. McGovern (Cheryl); brothers, Joseph L. McGovern and David M. McGovern (Kimberly); seven nieces and nephews, Chelsey Carnahan, Dylan Burton, David M. McGovern II, Justin McGovern, Brittany McGovern, Noah and Whitley McGovern; four great-nieces and nephews, Kaylin, Ryker, Kenna and Aria.

Services for Pat will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 26, 2018 at Immaculate Catholic Church. Visitation will be 1:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. Sunday with prayers beginning at 5:00 p.m. and 9:00 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. Monday morning at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Burial will take place at Resurrection Cemetery.
