William E. Mcbride

William E. Gene McBride, 81, of 816 Canterbury Road, Owensboro, died Monday, December 13, 2004 at his home. The Knottsville native was born to the late William M. and Mary Mamie Payne McBride. He was a retired master sergant in the U.S. Army with 26 years of service, and received both the silver and bronze stars. He was a member of Blessed Mother Catholic Church, Veterans of Foreign Wars, and enjoyed fishing and watching NASCAR and Kentucky basketball.
Mr. McBride is survived by his wife of 26 years, Eva S. McBride, of Owensboro, two daughters, Sharon Marie Young and husband Steve, and Darlina Lynn Etienne and husband Joseph, all of Owensboro, step-daughters and spouses, Donna Lee and Bob Whitehouse of Louisville, Brenda Sue and Bob Craig of Versailles, and Vickie Powers and Millis Basham of Hawesvile, also a sister, Frances Lorraine Mettalow of Orlando, Florida, five grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Wednesday at Glenn Funeral Home Chapel, with visitation from 6 until 8 p.m. Tuesday and after 11:00 a.m. Wednesday. Prayers will be at Tuesday. Online condolences may be left at www.glennfuneralhome.com.
