William Wayne Mattingly

May 31, 1938 — June 24, 2015

William Wayne Mattingly, 77, of Owensboro passed away Wednesday, June 24, 2015 at Redbanks Colonial Terrace Nursing Home in Sebree, Kentucky. He was born May 31, 1938 in Daviess County to the late Joseph E. "Buck" and Mary I. "Mamie" Lanham Mattingly and was the oldest of five children.
Wayne retired from Alcoa Warrick Operations after 37 years of service. He was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. Wayne enjoyed traveling with his wife and spending time with all of his family.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Grace O. Payne Mattingly; children, Sheri Burden (Michael), Chris Mattingly (Susie), Angie Alexander (Ricky), Ronnie Mattingly (Julie), all of Owensboro, Mike Mattingly (Jill) of New Albany, IN and Lynn Jones (Eric), of Louisville; 15 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; sisters, Mary Ann Hardy (Joe) of Floyd's Knobs, IN, Joetta Millay and Judy Stinnett, both of Owensboro; and a brother, Richard Mattingly of Henderson;
The funeral mass will be at 10 AM, Monday at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. Burial will be at St. Williams Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 1 until 6, with prayers at 5:30 PM and on Monday after 9 AM at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory.
