William Allan Mattingly

William Allan Mattingly, 56, of Scotty Lane, Owensboro, died Sunday, December 19, 2010 at his home. William was a lineman for Kenergy for over 30 years, and a member of Sts. Joseph and Paul Catholic Church. He had the best heart in the world, and he loved his family and spending time with them. He was preceded in death by a brother, James Gilbert Mattingly, and his grandparents, William Keith and Mary Grace Mattingly, and Emmanuel and Alberta Hagan.
Surviving is his loving wife of 26 years, Darlena (Strelsky) Mattingly, a son, Nathan Mattingly and step-daughter, Tara Roberts, grandchildren, Jaiden Main, Ava Roberts and Bentley Mattingly, his parents, Gilbert and Lucille (Hagan) Mattingly, all of Owensboro, his siblings, Larry (Lowan) Mattingly of Whitesville, Eddie (Arlinda) Mattingly and Kenny (Jennifer) Mattingly of Owensboro, Michele (Michael) Fortune of Rockport, IN., and Lisa (Jeff) Huff of Princeton, IN.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Thursday, December 23, 2010 at Sts. Joseph and Paul Catholic Church with Fr. Carl McCarthy officiating. Entombment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 2 to 8 p.m. with prayers at 7 p.m. and after 8:30 a.m. Thursday at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. The family has requested that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to St. Jude Children's Hospital or to Hospice of Western Kentucky.
