William Noel Martin

William Noel Billy Martin, 91, of 561 Cane Run Road, Lexington, KY, formerly of 2500 Veach Road in Owensboro, died November 3, 2003, in Lexington. A native of Daviess County, he was the owner and operator of Bill Martins Wallpaper store, for 60 years. He was a member of First Baptist Church. A devoted family man, he was also very generous person. He loved flower and vegetable gardening, and loved giving vegetables away.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Bessie in December 1994 and a daughter Bobbie Gail Hedges in June of 1995.

He is survived by a daughter, Joyce Havener of Lewisport; a brother James Martin of Evansville; a sister, Edna Sinclair of Owensboro; seven grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, November 5, 2003 at 11:30 a.m. at Glenn Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, and after 10:00 a.m. Wednesday. Burial will be in Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Expressions of sympathy may be made to First Baptist Church, or to the American Cancer Society.
