William James Law

William James Law, 83, of Owensboro, passed away Friday, July 11, 2025 at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. He was born March 2nd, 1942 in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania to the late William A. and Phyllis James Law.

Bill was a medical laboratory technician from 1962 until 2016, when he retired. He started his career at Mayfair Laboratory, working there on three separate occasions. In between his time there, he worked at labs in Pennsylvania. He returned to Owensboro for good in 1980. He became the lab manager at Our Lady of Mercy Hospital where he met his wife, Sally. He then returned to Mayfair Laboratory where he became the manager and owner.

Bill loved sports. He played baseball as a young man and expanded to a few other sports over the years. He continued his interest throughout life as an avid fan of sports, especially baseball and football.

He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Sally Claypool Law; four children, Jeff Law (Kristy) of Grove City, OH, Tom Law (Justin) of Northfield, NJ, Amy Law (Paul) of Owensboro and Bill Law (Bella) of Louisville, KY; four grandchildren, Brooke Meadows (Cole), Craig Law, Matthew Law and Madison Flaute (Roman); four great-grandchildren, Reagan, Morgan and Beau Meadows and Max Flaute; a brother, Dale Law of Louisville, KY; and his beloved dog, Jack.
