William H. "Bill" Horton, 84, of Harborside Healthcare, Owensboro, passed away on Tuesday, February 19, 2008 at Harborside. He was born in Cloverport, Ky. on March 22, 1923 to the late William Daniel and Marjorie Lucille Gore Horton. He was retired from Feldhaus-Schwartz Co. after 25 years as a diesel mechanic. He was a U. S. Army veteran of World War II and enjoyed doing things for family and friends, watching U. K. basketball, and Nascar racing. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Mary Lillie Horton on February 26, 1995, a son son. William Jerry Horton in 1997, a grandson, Timmy Horton in 1993, and a brother, Robert Daniel Horton in 1992.
Surviving are three sons, Thomas Ronald Horton and wife Kazuko, Robert Donald Horton and wife Debbie, and David Horton, all of Owensboro, two brothers, Thomas Jefferson "T. J." Horton of Murray, and Charles Edward Horton of Owensboro, a sister, Anna Dean Clark of Owensboro, seven grandchildren, Norman Horton, Ronnie Horton, Jr., Janet Johnson, Theresa Kassinger, Nancy Horton, Sonya Johnson, and Heather Estes, 13 great grandchildren, and four great great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services will be 2:00 P.M. Friday, February 22, at Glenn Funeral Home. Private graveside services will be held at Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3:00-8:00 P.M. Thursday and after 11:00 A.M. Friday at the funeral home.
