William M. Hill

Mr. William M. Hill, 86, of 1656 Glendale Avenue, Owensboro, died Tuesday, March 9, 2004, at his residence. He was born March 14, 1917, to William Thomas and Minnie Lee Wade Hill in Ohio County. He was an army veteran of WW II, a carpenter, and a member of Eaton Memorial Baptist Church. He enjoyed yardwork, gardening, puzzle books and watching sports. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Lillie Hill who died in 1979, two sisters, Wanda Coy, who died in 1989, and Wilbia Lee Shirley, who died in 1996.

Survivors include his wife of 22 years, Anna L. (Brown) Hill; one son, Mark A. Hill of Owensboro; three grandchildren, Charles M., Joshua D., and Matthew S. Thomas; one brother, Thomas Hill of MI; and one sister, Anna Mae Matthews of Durham, NC; several nieces and nephews.

Services will be 11:30 AM Saturday, March 13, 2004, at Glenn Funeral Home, with burial in Hix Cemetery. Military honors will be conducted at the cemetery by VFW Post 696 honor guard. Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friday, March 12, 2003 and after 9:00 a.m. Saturday.

Memorial contributions may be made to the donors choice.
