William Lewis Hamilton

March 2, 1924 — June 13, 2001

Mr. William L. Hamilton, 77, of 510 Poindexter, died Wednesday, June 13 at the Owensboro Mercy Health System. The Daviess County native was retired from Owensboro Municipal Utilities. He was a member of Precious Blood Catholic Church; was an Army veteran of World War II earning the Silver Star, Purple Heart, Good Conduct Medal, European Campaign Medal with 3 battle stars, WW II Victory Medal, a Presidential Unit Citation and an Infantry Badge. He was a member of AMVETS Post #75 and the Fraternal Order of Eagles.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Agnes Hamilton in 1978.

He is survived by a step-son, Jess Bates, Jr. of Cincinnati; two step-daughters, Doris Sharkey of Dixon, ILL and Marlene Keelan of Denver, CO.; two sisters, Emogene Veach and Betty Hamilton both of Owensboro; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services are 2 P.M., Friday at Precious Blood Catholic Church with burial in Rosehill Cemetery. Friends may call at Glenn Funeral Home after 10 A.M., Friday, June 15.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the American Heart Association.
