William T. "Bill" Gullett, 85, of Owensboro, passed away May 4, 2016 at Hermitage Care and Rehab. Born in Johnson County, December 6, 1930, to the late William S. and Hazel Gullett, Bill served his country in the Maries during the Korean War. After nearly five years in the military Bill was honorably discharged and began his career as a Switch Foreman for CSX and after 39 years, he retired. During his working career, he also spent 20 years as a volunteer firefighter. Bill was a 50-year member of the Masons and served twice as the Master. Bill is preceded in death by his brothers, Marvin Gullett, James Gullett, and Patrick Gullett.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Dorothy Jean Gullett; daughter, Tamara Hayden and her husband Robert; son, William "Tom" Gullett Jr., and his wife Jennie; grandchildren, Matt Gullett, Lucas Gullett and his fiancé Alice Barrette, Emily Gullett Martha, and her husband Chris, Allison Latham and her husband Lincoln, Amy Payne and her husband Andy, Kyle Hayden and his wife, Meredith; great-grandchildren, Abraham, Meadow, Lucy, Lily, Adelyn, Noah, Alivia, Sadie Jean, and a host of nieces and nephews.
A Masonic Service will be held 12:00 p.m. Saturday, May 7, 2016 at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory where visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. Entombment will follow at Owensboro Memorial Gardens.
