William "Bill" L. Griffin, 76, of Lewisport passed away Sunday, June 26, 2016 at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. Mr. Griffin was born April 2, 1940 in Haywood County, Tennessee to the late James and Hazel Jernigan Griffin. Bill loved the outdoors, gardening (he was known to some as "the tomato man") but most of all his grandchildren. He was strong as an ox but selfless, sacrificial, outgoing and godly who was also a bit of a jokester. He will truly be missed by many.
Mr. Griffin was preceded in death by his wife of 48 years, Dee, in 2015; brothers, J.B., Hollis and Gene Griffin.
Survivors include his son, Brian Griffin of Owensboro; daughter, Lisa Barrow and husband Joe of Hawesville; grandchildren, Blake, Regan, Elysha Barrow and Brianna Griffin; brothers, John and Ray Griffin; sisters, Kathy Hester, Faye Ervin, Carolyn Daniel, Linda Crowder; many nieces and nephews.
The service will be 2:00 PM Friday at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with Pastor Larry Sosh officiating. Visitation will be Thursday from 4:00 to 8:00 and Friday from 12:00 noon at the funeral home. Burial will be in Owensboro Memorial Gardens with his wife.
