William A. Gilles

William A. "Bill" Gilles, 68, of Owensboro passed away on Wednesday March 10, 2010 at Owensboro Medical Health System. He was born on June 16, 1941 in Daviess Co., Ky. to the late Herman Joe and Ellen Moredock Gilles. He was retired as an adjuster for AllState Insurance Co. and was of the Catholic faith. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and taking care of his farm in McLean Co. He enjoyed watching all types of sports particularly U. K. football and basketball. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, John M. Gilles in 1999 and James D. "Smokey" Gilles in 1996.

Surviving are his wife of 32 years, Dale H. Gilles, a daughter, Tanya Robey Sturgill of Lexington, two sons, Kevin W. Robey and wife Leah of Lexington and Greg A. Robey and wife Cathy of Bowling Green, six grandchildren, Katherine A. and Hannah C. Sturgill, Camelia K. and Lilli Robey, all of Lexington, Haley M. and Jack A. Robey, both of Bowling Green, a sister, Barbara Gilles Clark of Owensboro, and two brothers, Robert J. Gilles of Owensboro and Thomas E. Gilles of Houston, TX.

Services will be 10:00 A.M. Saturday, March 13, at Immaculate Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Rosehill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3:00-8:00 P.M. Friday and after 8:30 A.M. Saturday at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Prayers will be Friday evening at the funeral home.
