William L. Gesser

William L. Gus Gesser, 65, of 3137 Daviess St., Owensboro, passed away Tuesday, March 23, 2004. He was born in Evansville, In. and was a member of Sts. Joseph & Paul Catholic Church. He was retired as a Lieutenant Colonel from the Owensboro Police Dept after 28 years. He had been the director of the Dismas Charities for 8 years, director of the Spouse Abuse Center for 2 years, and a past president of the Eastern Little League. He was also a member of the Fraternal Order of Police. He was the son of the late Edward & Margaret Gesser.

Surviving is his wife of 44 years, Helen J. Gesser, three sons and a daughter-in-law, Chad & Susan Gesser of Owensboro, Jeff Gesser of Louisville, and Nick Gesser of Bardstown, two grandchildren and one expectant grandchild.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, March 25 at Sts. Joseph & Paul Catholic Church with burial following in Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2:00-8:00 P.M. Wednesday and after 9:00 A.M. Thursday at Glenn Funeral Home with prayers at 7:30 P.M. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice Assoc., 723 Harvard Dr., Owensboro, KY 42301 or to the St. Vincent DePaul Society of Sts. Joseph & Paul Catholic Church, 609 E. 4th. Street, Owensboro, Ky. 42303.
