William Michael Fry

William (Bill) Michael Fry, 60, of Hartford, passed away on October 8, 2012 at Ohio County Hospital. He was born in Owensboro to William V. Fry and Ophelia Rose (Simmons) Jollay.

Michael attended Brescia University. He loved horses and had been employed at Churchill Downs in Louisville and other horse racing tracks. He volunteered much of his time to various community services, including: Ohio County Equestrian (a horse riding program for special needs children), Narcotics Anonymous and Alcoholics Anonymous. Michael helped form the A.A. Chapters of Ohio County.

He was preceded in death by his father, William V. Fry in 1971 and a step-father, Hilton Lee Jollay in 1999.

Michael is survived by a son, William M. Fry, Jr. of Owensboro; his mother, Rose Jollay of Hartford; brother, Brian P. Fry (Ruth) of Summerville, SC; a step-daughter, Stasha Wardlow and her children, Heather, Destiny and Haley of Kansas; nieces, nephews and extended family.

A memorial mass will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, October 12 at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Beaver Dam. Fr. Jean Rene Kalombo will officiate. Innichement will be at Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be on Thursday from 5 - 8 PM (with prayers at 7 PM) at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory and on Friday after 10 AM at Holy Redeemer.
