William E. Foor, 72, of Owensboro died Monday, October 19, 2009, at Wellington Parc. Mr. Foor was born in Owensboro to the late Harry B. and Lucy Petri Foor, graduated from Owensboro High School in 1955 and attended Western Kentucky University and Kentucky Wesleyan College. He had lived in Hopkinsville, Kentucky for over 50 years where he was an active volunteer for the Christian County High School Band for 30 years and the Ladies Softball Team for 20 years. He worked in Real Estate before he retired, was a member of St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Hopkinsville and attended Immaculate Catholic Church in Owensboro and was an avid University of Kentucky Fan.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Wathen Medley Foor; a daughter, Deborah Foor Baker and her husband John of Huntersville, NC; a grandson, John Ryan Baker of Huntersville, NC; a brother, Julius Evans Foor of Daytona Beach, FL; and several nieces, nephews and brothers and sisters-in-law.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday at Immaculate Catholic Church. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Wednesday and after noon on Thursday at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Prayers will be said 7 p.m. Wednesday night. Burial will be in Mater Dolorosa.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Hospice of Western Kentucky, Immaculate Catholic Church Ladies Auxiliary, or the Immaculate Funeral Choir.
