William Hurt Fleming, Sr., 74, of 3805 Wellington Ct., Owensboro, passed away on Monday, June 26, 2006, at St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville, Tn. He was born in Mayfield, Ky. to the late Clifton & Cora Elizabeth Turner Fleming. He was a member of Yellow Creek Baptist Church and was retired from the General Electric Co. after 37 years as a Computer Systems Manager. He graduated from Kentucky Wesleyan College with a degree in Business. He was a member of the Hillcrest Golf Club Assoc. and enjoyed golfing and he also enjoyed raising a vegetable garden. He was also preceded in death by a grandson, Samuel Adam Fleming in 1993 and his sister, Edith Conover.
Surviving is his wife of 49 years, Jo Ann Smith Fleming, two sons and their wives, William H. & Tina Fleming, Jr. of Liberty, Tx., and Charles W. Chuck & Kelly Fleming of Hendersonville, Tn., and a daughter and her husband, Rebecca Ann & Greg Moore of Pinson, Ala., four grandchildren, Stephen Moore, Jennifer Moore, John Thomas Corbit, and Gardner Fleming, and a brother, Vernon Fleming of Louisville.
Services will be 11:00 A.M. Thursday, June 29 at Yellow Creek Baptist Church with burial following in Yellow Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3:00-8:00 P.M. Wednesday and after 9:00 A.M. Thursday at Glenn Funeral Home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Building Fund of Yellow Creek Baptist Church, 5741 Highway 144, Owensboro, Ky. 42303.
