William Russell “Rusty” Crask, 79, of Owensboro, passed away Tuesday, June 11, at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. Born February 10, 1945, to the late William Walter and Dorothy Louise Crask, Rusty was a member of First Free Will Baptist Church and served his country during the Vietnam War in the United States Marine Corps. Rusty drove a truck for many years with P Ridge Trash, where he would eventually retire. A man of his own, those who knew Rusty, understood him to be headstrong, proud, and fiercely independent—a man who charted his own course through life. He found solace and joy in pursuing his passion for riding motorcycles. His adventurous spirit and love for the open road defined much of his free time.
In addition to his parents, Rusty is preceded in death by a sister, Shirley Hall; and brother, Kenny Crask.
Those left to cherish his memory include his companion of many years, Suzanne Mckinney; son, William Crask Jr. (Carol); stepchildren, Brian Goodman (Carrie) and Misty Texas (Abel); sister, Wanda “Wan” Curtis; grandchildren, Justin Crask, Mitchell Crask, and Maxwell Devins; as well as six other grandchildren, ten greatgrandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
The funeral service for Rusty will be 2 PM Saturday, June 15, at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Visitation will be from 10 AM until time of service at the funeral home.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to The American Kidney Fund, 11921 Rockville Pike, Suite 300, Rockville, MD 20852.
