William "Bill" Joseph Fulkerson

William “Bill” Joseph Fulkerson, 70, of Owensboro passed away peacefully September 12, 2026, surrounded by family. Born August 1, 1956, in Owensboro, Bill was the child of the late William “Doc” Leslie Fulkerson and Ima Lois Pate Fulkerson. He graduated from McLean County High School and went on to work at CPS in Henderson for 24 years and as a car salesman at Don Moore Nissan in Owensboro for 22 years before retiring in 2023. Bill married Cheryl “Sherry” Elaine Gough in 1981, and together they shared 45 wonderful years together. He was known for his love of fishing, watching NASCAR, the UK Wildcats, the St. Louis Cardinals, and the Chicago Bears, and spending time with his family and friends. Bill brought joy to everyone around him.

In addition to his parents, Bill also was preceded in death by his sister, Joyce Morphew and husband, Billy; his sister, Jane Tyler and husband, Michael.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 45 years, Sherry Gough Fulkerson; two sons, William Joshua Fulkerson and Ethan Michael Fulkerson (Jamie); granddaughters, Saige Fulkerson and Layla Fulkerson; sister, Charlotte Howard (Kenneth); several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service for Bill Fulkerson will be 10:00 am Thursday, September 17 at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Visitation will be Wednesday from 3:00 until 7:00 pm and Thursday from 9:00 until 9:30 am. Burial will be in Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
