William "Bill" Bartlett, 68, of Owensboro passed away Wednesday, March 21, 2012 at his daughter's home in Calhoun. Born October 21, 1943 in Daviess County, he was the son of the late Otis and Ida Hicks Bartlett; was retired from the Army Reserves and the Daviess County Road Department where he was a heavy equipment operator; and was a member of Greater Vision Baptist Church. Mr. Bartlett enjoyed gardening, NASCAR, working on his antique tractors and lawnmowers, collecting guns; and caring for his cats, Critter and George.
Surviving are his children, Janet (David) Dant of Calhoun and Ronnie (Heather) Bartlett of Owensboro; his honorary daughter and Hospice nurse, Michelle Byrd; grandchildren, Emeline Bartlett, Claudia Bartlett, Asia Dant, Jonathan Severs and Morgan Severs; sisters, Mary Mattingly and Sue Fraize of Owensboro; and brothers, Larry (Debbie) Bartlett, Danny (Mary Lou) Bartlett, and Otis Bartlett, Jr all of Owensboro; and several nieces and nephews.
Services are 12 noon Saturday, March 24 in the chapel of Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with Rev. Tim Russ officiating followed by burial in Scherer Cemetery in Stanley. Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. on Friday and after 10 a.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.
