William Anderson

William H. "Bill" Anderson, 83, of Owensboro, passed away peacefully Saturday, August 6, 2016 at Signature Healthcare Hillcrest in Owensboro. He was born August 20, 1932 in the Philpot community to the late Samuel S. and Bessie L. Howard Anderson.

Bill was a U.S. Marine Corp veteran who loved his family and gardening. He retired from Holland Dairy and was an avid U.K. fan. Following retirement Bill worked for ten years as a CNA at Hillcrest Nursing Home.

He was preceded in death by a son, Byron Dale Anderson; five brothers, John, Carl, Hugh, Elmer and Roy Anderson; and a sister, Melba Grace Hagman.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Cecelia Wade Anderson; daughters, Karen Anderson Rhinerson (Ronnie Cox) of Owensboro and Darlene McDonald (Tim) of Rockport, IN; four grandchildren, Eric Kistner of Nashville, TN, Amanda McDonald Tucker (Nathan) of Rockport, IN, Jason McDonald of Rockport, IN, and Brandon Kistner of Nashville, TN; five great-grandchildren, Cire Kistner, Xenia Kistner, Eli Tucker, Graham Tucker and Landon Kistner.

The service will be at 2 PM Tuesday August 9 at the chapel in Owensboro Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory is handling arrangements.
