Wilfert J. “Will” Wigginton, 53, of Owensboro, passed away Monday December 9, 2024, Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. He was born May 11, 1971, in New Orleans, LA, to the late Donald Sr. and Bonnie Terrell Wigginton. Will grew up in the foster care system along with his siblings. This gave him a drive as an adult to help in the communities he had lived in. Will met his wife Pauline, and they were married for 27 years. He adopted Jenna as his daughter when she was only 5 years old. Will was a former police officer in St. Bernard Parrish in New Orleans, had worked as a CNA and spent time on shrimp boats and used to drive around in a truck selling shrimp by the pound with his daughter Jenna.
He survived Hurricane Katrina and then moved his family to Owensboro, KY. Will had worked at Blessed Mother Catholic Church as a maintenance man. He helped with CASA, Knights of Columbus, Owensboro Twisters, and many more charities in our community here in Owensboro. Will enjoyed making all of us laugh, going fishing and watching New Orleans Saints football.
Along with his parents, he is also preceded in death by a brother, Randy Wiggington; an aunt, Redina Kinchen; nephew, R.J. Wigginton; and his father-in-law, Ramon Laboy Jr.
Will is survived by his wife of 27 years, Pauline Laboy Wigginton; a daughter, Jenna (Coleman Everett) Laboy; grandchildren, Parker and Priscilla Everett; a brother, Donald (Gail Lambert) Wigginton Jr.; a sister, Karen Shannon; nephews, Curtis Lambert and Michael Bouffaine; nieces, Erica Lambert and Bonnie Shannon; mother-in-law, Lois Laboy; and brothers-in-law, Ramon Laboy III, Joseph Laboy, and Miguel Laboy.
The funeral Mass for Will Wigginton will be at 10 a.m. Saturday December 21, 2024, at Blessed Mother Catholic Church, where visitation will be from 9 until 10 a.m. at the church. The burial will be in Rosehill Cemetery.
