Wendell T. Staley

Wendell T. Staley, 86, of Owensboro, passed away on Saturday, December 1, 2012 at Twin Rivers Nursing and Rehab. He was born in Clinton, IL to the late J. Wayne and Veta (Hayes) Staley.

Wendell was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II and a graduate of Bradley University.
He retired from Caterpillar Corporation after 17 years of service. He and Daphne retired in the Knoxville, TN area and moved to Owensboro in 1999. Wendell enjoyed pool, was an avid golfer and belonged to the Country Club while working for Caterpillar in Peoria, IL.

Wendell was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Darald Hayes Staley and J. Wayne Staley, Jr.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Daphne Staley; a daughter, Sabrina Cox (George); 5 step grandchildren; 9 step great grandchildren; 1 step great-great grandchild and nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, December 4 at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Entombment will be at Rosehill Cemetery. Visitation will be on Tuesday after 11:00 AM at the funeral home.
