Wendell Louis Miller

Wendell L. Miller, 69, of Owensboro, went home to be with the Lord on March 9, 2006 at the Owensboro Medical Health System. Born in Rumsey, KY, he was raised by loving parents, the late Ishmael and Nina Miller in Sacramento, KY. He is survived by his daughters, Lisa McDavid of Nitro, WV, and Wendy Cummings of Pepperell, MA, as well as his sisters Jean Gist of Owensboro, Glenda Stroud of Island and Jennie Bozarth of Owensboro; and grandchildren, Brooke, Christopher, Moriah, Jacob, and Kevin. Mr. Miller was preceded in death by a grandson, Joshua in 2000.

Motorcycle Pete served in the Army from 1955-1959; with tremendous mechanical talent he enjoyed several years of drag racing and most recently cruising his 1956 T-Bird to local antique auto shows. He retired from SIG&E Co after 42 years of dedicated employment. Mr. Miller was a member of the Tri-state Thunderbird Club, IBEW, Scottish Rite, AMVETS, and was a past Mason and Shriner. He resided in Evansville, Newburgh, Rockport, and retired to Owensboro in 1998 where he attended Ridgewood Baptist Church

Services are 2 P.M. Sunday, March 12, 2006 at Ridgewood Baptist Church officiated by Bro. Ron Prater followed by entombment at Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be at Glenn Funeral Home from 6-8 P.M. on Saturday and after 1 P.M. Sunday at the Church.

In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the Ridgewood Baptist Church Memorial Fund, 800 Carter Rd., Owensboro, KY 42301.
