Wayne Lovell

Wayne Lovell, 86, of Owensboro, passed away July 3, 2019, while under the care of Hospice of Western Kentucky. He was born November 14, 1932, in Greenville, to the late Charlie and Myrtle Parker Lovell. Wayne was a member of Third Baptist Church, where he had recently received a lifetime achievement, the "Deacon Emeritus Award." He was a spiritual man who loved to help others and pray for them every chance he could. Wayne retired 3 different times in his life; once from US Steel in the Agrichemicals Division, from Miles Farm Supply, and Kroger. In his free time, he enjoyed golfing and hanging out at Burger King. His family will remember him for his sense of humor, and his love for them.

Wayne was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Jean Locke Lovell; brother, Harold Lovell Sr.; and sister, Marjorie Lovell.

He is survived by his daughters, Lista Hale and Lesha Lovell (Loyd Vinson); grandchildren, John David and Rachel Hale, Austin (Chelsea Hayden) Vinson, Zach Lovell, and Jackie Vinson; great-grandchildren, Draven Vickers, Lincoln Hale, Isaiah Epley, Denver Hayden, and Eleanor Vinson; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be 12pm Thursday at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with Rev. Micah Spicer officiating. Burial will follow at Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 5pm until 8pm Wednesday, and Thursday from 10am until 12pm at the funeral home.
