Wava I. Vaughn, 67, of Owensboro, passed away on Saturday, January 23, 2010 at Select Specialty Hospital in Evansville, IN. She was born on March 1, 1942 in Tompkinsville, Ky. to the late Tom and Mary Hamilton Vaughn. Wava enjoyed cooking, gardening, spending time with her grandkids and great grandkids, and going to yard sales. She completed a supervisor training course at Shane's Sewing Factory where she worked and was a member of Larkin Baptist Church in Patronsville, IN. She also had worked at Gordon's Jewelry and Service Merchandise as a diamond consultant. She was also preceded in death by a sister and her husband, Margie and Paul Lehr of Rockport.
Wava is survived by a son, Mike Chapman and his wife Amy of Newburgh, IN, two daughters, Terri Claise and husband David of Grandview, IN, and Raye Ann Chapman of Owensboro, five grandchildren, Chris Bunch and wife Daphne of Owensboro, Nathan Still and wife Jeanna of Chrisney, IN, Samantha Dunn of Owensboro, and Nick and Christeen Claise of Grandview, seven great grandchildren, three brothers, Charles Vaughn and wife Joyce, Lynn Vaughn, and Steve Vaughn, all of Rockport, two sisters, Jan Comer and husband Owen of Shepherdsville, KY and Sue Vaughn of Rockport, fourteen nieces and nephews, and David Travis, her best friend and companion of 18 years.
Services will be 12 Noon Wednesday, January 27, in the chapel of Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with burial following in Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 2:00-8:00 P.M. Tuesday and after 8:00 A.M. Wednesday at the funeral home.

The family would like to give thanks to all the doctors, nurses, and staff members at Owensboro Medical Health System and Select Specialty Hospital in Evansville that helped Wava during her illnesses.
